What is 'Havens for Healing'?

It is our intention to raise awareness of this disease, by providing a hands-on approach to ensure

women with or in treatment for ovarian cancer have a comfortable and harmonious space in their

home in which to focus on wellness and recovery. In Canada 2400 women will be diagnosed with

ovarian cancer and 1700 will succumb to this disease.

How does 'Havens for Healing' work?

Our members volunteer their time and expertise to provide a complimentary room makeover

in the woman's home. Using her existing furnishings and accessories, an ordinary room will

be redesigned to create a relaxing and tranquil environment… a 'haven for healing'. Our

ReDesigners will set up a consultation first, to discuss the space for the haven, as well as objects

or possessions that are personal and important to the woman. The actual redesign will take place

at a time that is convenient to the woman.

How does a 'Haven' help in the healing process?

We have testimonial after testimonial from recipients of our havens who have experienced a

sense of calm and total relaxation in their newly redesigned space. There is something about

being in an environment that has been personally created for you. It promotes positive energy,

and that in turn can create a sense of wellbeing.

Who's eligible for a 'Haven for Healing'?

Any woman who has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer is eligible. If you have, or know

someone with ovarian cancer please call to arrange for a 'Haven for Healing'.
